Log on and give it up......

 OK, so here I am on my lunch hour, listening to Norah Jones sing "Come Away with Me" on Facebook writing my first blog as the self proclaimed Wacko Old Lady and having so many things to rant about that I don't know where to start.

OK, let's start with the way technology is hindering our young people. How it is actually taking our jobs while at the same time making us stupid and lazy. I am so sick and tired of young people pissing and moaning about Boomers ruining everything and they can't buy a house. They can't start a family. There's the Global Warming thing and on and on and on......for the love of  God ...shut up!

Yeah, all those problems are real, but it sure the hell isn't the Boomers fault. Take a look at the corporations trading you in for the newest robot who is willing to do your job without pay, the program that does the accounting without pay, the self check outs, the kiosks in the doctors office. The list goes on. You young people, and most older folks as well to be honest, are so brain washed into thinking that all of this is good for us, That this is progress. No, it's taking away our ability to do things for ourselves. Between the slick commercials glorifying technology as the second coming and the social media hammering at our self esteem on an hourly basis, we are turning into a population of people ruled by invisible forces that we willingly log into everyday.

For example....our young people see commercials of how hard it is to cook a decent meal and put it on the table. What, with all that has to be done. Like what?!?! What the hell is everyone doing that they can't cook themselves a meal? Now, you just join in and have it all delivered using little plastic containers that have measured everything out for you because your so busy and all, measuring ingredients is just too time consuming.  I'd like to point out here, the Global Warming issue we Boomers are being blamed, for is being stoked by the flames of single use plastics and delivery truck fumes. 

Too busy to even open to little containers and put them together? No problem, eat out and get it delivered or get it delivered frozen and just pop it in the microwave. 

Oh, I can come up with a multitude of little irritating hypocritical bullshit things these young people like to blame on Boomers, but I think you get what I'm talking about.

Listen, young people, point your justified anger in the right direction...big tech, corporations and while your at it, take a look at your own behavior for once. As my dearly departed Mother used to say-"This world is going to hell in a hand basket" and as I like to say, "it ain't Boomers who are carrying that hand basket." Hell, we're too worried about social security lasting us until we croak and praying like hell we don't have to go back to work and work for some little clueless shit that doesn't even know how to  make a grilled cheese sandwich!

 Does anyone else have a hard time with passwords? So, I have about 30 different on-line accounts and they say not to use the same password for all of your accounts. Mix it up! Yeah, right like I'm going to remember 30 different passwords.  So, now a days you can have a program remember them for you. Then on top of that you can have 2 step verification, where the site will either send you a text message or an e-mail with a code to enter in. So, I logon and my password fills in automatically and then I get texted a code to enter in and I am able to continue on.  What could go wrong? Well, I'll tell you. I recently had a disaster of a  time when I attempted to switch phone carriers from Verizon to Spectrum. Big mistake, I do not recommend Spectrum. It wasn't until I was signed in and multiple phone calls and days later was I informed that sometime they have trouble transferring phone #'s and my number was stuck in a activating loop of sorts and it has to be "escalate...

Hell yeah I'm old....what about it?

OK, so is anyone else fed up with America's obsession with youth, Of course youth is pretty awesome. You have strength, agility, smooth skin and a future full of endless possibilities.  You live it, go through some stuff, good and bad and you age. Of course we all want to look our best and be as healthy as we can be but there comes a time when we have to face and embrace reality, I don't know when it happened that our society became so afraid of old age.  Earlier generations and culture would respect older people, go to them for advice, help them with physically challenging tasks and generally love and care for them with respect and dignity. Now, old age is feared by young and old, it's often ridiculed and mocked. There is little respect for elders in the home and in society in general.
