Locked out!

 Does anyone else have a hard time with passwords?

So, I have about 30 different on-line accounts and they say not to use the same password for all of your accounts. Mix it up! Yeah, right like I'm going to remember 30 different passwords. 

So, now a days you can have a program remember them for you.

Then on top of that you can have 2 step verification, where the site will either send you a text message or an e-mail with a code to enter in.

So, I logon and my password fills in automatically and then I get texted a code to enter in and I am able to continue on. 

What could go wrong?

Well, I'll tell you.

I recently had a disaster of a  time when I attempted to switch phone carriers from Verizon to Spectrum. Big mistake, I do not recommend Spectrum. It wasn't until I was signed in and multiple phone calls and days later was I informed that sometime they have trouble transferring phone #'s and my number was stuck in a activating loop of sorts and it has to be "escalated" to their IT team that happened to be backed up and it could be as long as a week before they get my phone working!

I told them I am going camping up in the mountains and really need a phone with me. Nope, nothing they could do.

So I get pissed off and bring it all back to Verizon however, my phone number is being held captive in the Spectrum activating loop nightmare. So I had to get a new phone number.

Well, my e-mail's 2 step verification code is texted to me and since I no longer have that phone I can't get into my e-mail because I carelessly lost my emergency codes I received 15 years ago when I first set up my e-mail! However, if I pay a third party they may be able to get me in! WTF!

So, now I am even more pissed at all this and am cussing technology and the Godless Tech companies who suck the life out of people and steal their dreams. Our kids have no future because of them and they are devils hell bent on destroying mankind!

So, after I calm down, I set up a new e-mail, I set up a new e-mail account and then I have to spend hours updating all my accounts with my new e-mail and phone number. I think I still have a few more to do. 

I started drinking again and start therapy tomorrow!

Hell yeah I'm old....what about it?

OK, so is anyone else fed up with America's obsession with youth, Of course youth is pretty awesome. You have strength, agility, smooth skin and a future full of endless possibilities.  You live it, go through some stuff, good and bad and you age. Of course we all want to look our best and be as healthy as we can be but there comes a time when we have to face and embrace reality, I don't know when it happened that our society became so afraid of old age.  Earlier generations and culture would respect older people, go to them for advice, help them with physically challenging tasks and generally love and care for them with respect and dignity. Now, old age is feared by young and old, it's often ridiculed and mocked. There is little respect for elders in the home and in society in general.
